The
Day to day life of the Saints
Resources
for a victorious life while in the world (Philippians 4:1 – 13)
Saint:
Set apart, which means separated from, unto, and for.
We
are saints still in the world. We cannot avoid the troubles of this world. What
resources do we have to sustain victory?
1.)
We have the
confidence of the Saints
a.
It is the “Can do
all things” gift.
b.
It is ours
because He strengthens us
c.
Paul lays our
confidence, expresses also our source.
d.
The strength that
comes from God is always with us.
e.
Whatever happens,
we can rely on the Lord our strength.
f.
There is nothing
in this world that can defeat us.
2.)
We have the
comfort of the Saints
a.
This is the joy
and crown.
b.
Know your joy and
crown among believers.
c.
My joy – people
who make us feel happy.
d.
My crown – people
who make us feel we’ve accomplished something.
e.
Choose a group
who can be our joy and crown. These are people who are our brethren and beloved
(Christians and those we love).
3.)
We have the
choices of the Saints
a.
These are realistic
and productive.
b.
We can replace
anxiety with prayer and thanksgiving.
c.
Rejoice because
the Lord is near.
d.
When we have
anxiety, admit it and replace it with prayer and thanksgiving.
e.
Beware the
idolatry of pain. When a Christian gets hurt and he/she refuses to let go, this
becomes an idol of pain.
f.
Gratitude in the
end will replace anxiety.
g.
We are to rejoice
because happiness is a choice.
h.
The Lord is near
– by our side, and He is coming again to fulfill His promise. Once we become a
Christian, we can rejoice in all circumstances because the Lord will never
leave our side.
i.
We have the Holy
Spirit in us, and there is no valley of the shadow of death that can defeat us.
The Lord will always be with us.
j.
If we have a
problem we can’t overcome, it may mean we’re spending so much time focusing on
our problem.
